Women and wigs are inseparable. There are good reasons for this. Wigs are used as additional hair to cover up the head, especially when normal hair needs to be protected, or it is not in the form that one likes. Wigs have, in addition, traversed this utilitarian role to become fashion statements. Millions of women around the world use wigs, to the extent that we think it is their natural hair. Celebrities not only use wigs, but also have become the greatest models for different types of wigs globally.
Wigs, Wig Choice and Natural Hair
However, wigs can be good or bad depending on the quality you choose, and whether they fit you. It is important to understand the need for wigs to complement the rest of the body, especially the complexion. The reason some black women get it wrong with wigs is that they try to go for colors that contrast with their skin complexion. Blonde wigs are a favorite with most celebrities, even though many of these showbiz divas would do with different or natural colors, yes, like black and brown. Moreover, it is important to allow one’s natural hair to grow and cover the head. Nature was not wrong when it complemented your skin color with your hair.
The Good, the Average and the Unthinkable
There are a number of celebrities that have perfected the art of utilizing wigs to change their outlooks. Several have stuck with wigs and succeeded, but majority would do themselves and their fans a favor, if they changed to other types of wigs.

Or as quoted by Ellie Krupnick in the Huffington Post
“I spent the first couple years of my career as a very blonde blonde. And then I went brunette for a role, and suddenly all my offers changed — the types of roles people approached me with totally changed. When I was really blonde, it was always like, ‘The really pretty girl,’ or ‘The sexy hot chick.’ At that point in my career, it was all lame pilots — those were the types of roles I was going for. And then, when I was on The O.C., it was like, ‘she’s punk-y!’ I had a purple streak in my hair, and I was the ‘punky girl.’ And then when I went brunette, the roles went to more, ‘She’s a waitress with a heart of gold, and a tough life,’ or ‘She’s a doctor.’ And I always wondered — would I have been offered those roles had I still been blonde? I don’t think so. I think the perception of brunettes being more intellectual persists.”FREE Mieoko Kabuki Brush!
